(More) Project Life Freebies

Hey friends! I am still working away on my Project Life book. Some weeks fall together easily...and some, well, not so much. I am finding that on the weeks where things are hard to get documented, I am turning to freebies I find on the web. You can find my first set of Project Life Freebies here.
And lucky for you, I am rounding them up for you this week.

As always there is fine print. In shorts terms, give credit to the original artist who was nice enough to give freebies. ;)

The fine print: This list is in no-way all inclusive. I have tried to check all the links I have included to verify they are truly free but in the case I missed one, let me know so I can delete it from my list! Also, this will be a 'running' list of sorts. My plan is to have a freebie post every so often to showcase other, new freebies that I have found. Also, go leave these creative people some love & thank them for the freebies. They worked hard to create these & unselfishly give them out for free. Oh, and these are not for resell or copying. And, as always, give the creator of the wonderful stuff you download credit.

Now, on to the freebies.

1. My Sisters Suitcase has the ADORABLE  journal cards. Love the fun colors! Make sure you get both sets while at their site!

2. Craft Gossip has some really versitile 3x4 cards. Love all the patterns and colors! These would be great to have preprinted and ready to go at a moments notice!

3. Persnickety Prints is offering some fun 3x4 cards as well. These were emailed to subscribers during NSD, and well, I love them. So versitile and cute!

Happy Sunday! Today it is cool here (in the 60's) - and I have the doors and windows opened. Such a nice break from the 90 degree temps we've had here lately!

I created this page a bit ago, and honestly, just forgot to post it here. Laugh. John's Battle of the Books team placed 2nd at District and this photo was shot on my iphone. I was really wanting a clean and graphic design, and I think this fits it perfectly. A little bakers twine + wooden bird + and some stitching = perfectness!

This coming week I have a giveaway (hello, Monday!) + on Tuesday I will be featuring some great Project Life freebies for you to use, so check back! I am also hoping to get in a little scrapbook time as well (cause you know thats where my heart is!).

Have a great Sunday, y'all. I am off for a long run + cleaning up my scrapbook room + some creativeness.

Love you.

Week Something or Another...

Somewhere along the lines, I have screwed up my week labeling. By my calendar, this should be week 10. I am pretty sure I got it all off track while we were on vacation.

Anywho. I am calling this Week 10 - March 5-11.

Week 10

Week 10

1. Details of the week. 2. Mom's 65th bday 3. Date card. 4. Me + my new haircut 5. Journaling about Mom's bday
6. Getting my new haircut + journaling 7. Flowers from Alex

Week 11

This week was incredibly hard. Alex's uncle Gary was put in Hospice + I spent all week at his bedside as he was dying. This was also Alex's and my Anniversary - but because of everything else going on, we chose to not celebrate. Instead we split a Chocolate Motlen Lava Cake. It was perfect.

Week 11 (side A)

1. Journaling about the week. 2. Happy 8th Anniversary with Cake. 3. date card. 4. Diecut 5. Anniversary journaling. 6. My Gift. 7. More journaling. 8. Hydrangeas blooming.

Week 11 (side B)

1. Meemaw. 2. Working Out journaling. 3. Tree blooming in our front yard. 4. Gary 5. Journaling about Gary dying. 6. Garys Obit. 7. The last photo of Gary taken.

Thats all for now. I have three more weeks, photographed and ready to be blogged. That may come tomorrow. I have layouts too. *sigh* I will catch up. I will. I will.

Project Life Week 6 & 7

...and more Project Life layouts!

Week 6

In my book, Week 6 ran from Feb. 13-19. This included Valentine's Day and the 7th anniversary of our daughter passing away. Its always a hard week.

Week 6

1. Photo of Ben and an award he got at school. 2. Journaling about award. 3. 'M' - journaling about Marcy's Anniversary in Heaven. 4. Review of week on Elles Studio card. 5.background - a handmade Valentines Day card from Grammy & Paw Paw with journaling about it. 6. date card. 7. Valentines Day card to Ben from his friend. 8. Johns handmade card from Grammy & Paw Paw and a photo of him at his class Valentines Day party.

Week 7

This was the week of our trip to Florida without the kiddos. (Can you say 'HEAVEN") This week had a ton of photos, so I added an insert.

Week 7 (side A)

1. A lighthouse in Daytona. 2. Self photo of Alex and I on the beach. Journaling is written on the back of a envelope from the other side. 3. Date & photo of Alex on a wooden ramp. 4. Photo of the beach. 5. Photo of Daytona sign, along with journaling. 6. Daytona Harley Davidson store.

Week 7 (side B)

1. Meeting Goofy. 2. Envelope with private journaling. 3. Cinderellas Castle. 4. Journaling of trip details. 5. Photo of Alex and I at WDW. 6. Me + Mickey Mouse.

Week 7 (Insert, Side A)

1. Envelope + hotel key from Resort. 2. Statue at WDW. 3. Sign outside our Resort + tag from the hotel. 4. Our view from our hotel room.

Week 7 (Insert, Side B)

1. Journaling. 2. Trip Itinerary. 3. Photos of characters from WDW. 4. John's Boy Scout Award Ceremony + journaling.

As you can see, each individual section is not feel fancy, or heavily detailed. I wanted to highlight the important stuff + move on. I got behind in my documenting at about this point. I just needed to get it done - so for me, that meant using minimal extra embellishments and papers. It meant I wrote journaling on small scraps of paper + added labels on photos. Again, this works for me.

Project Life Weeks 4 & 5

Ahhhh. So I am waaaaaaaay behind in blogging my Project Life pages. Believe it or not, I am still keeping up with it! Currently I am about 3 weeks behind in actually documenting but I know I will catch up. I am working at my own pace, setting my own rules.

And its working for me.

I haven't blogged anyway Project Life layouts, since, um, like week 3.
I am ashamed. Very, very ashamed.

I find it hard to get good photographs of my PL pages, and its frustrating. But, today I have weeks 4 & 5 to share. Oh, and I have already photographed weeks 7-thru mid-April. So those I will be sharing
later in the week.

Week 4

Because of a trip that was coming up, I ended up calling Week 4 January 23-26. I wanted to keep my trip photos all on one week, and so, they will be in Week 5. Makes sense to me (and I hope it does for you!)

Week 4 January 23-26 (only one page)

1. Journaling about upcoming trip to Las Vegas, 2. John helping shell the green beans for dinner. 3. Ben working on a school project 4. 'Make Every Moment Matter' die cut. 5. Alex texting. 6. Date card 7. A photo of me, take by John. 8. Me and Olivia during Life Group.

Week 5

This week ended up being a longer week in PL than normal. The day span was from January 27 thru Feb 12. We just had a bunch going on and, again, for me it made sense to do it this way.

Week 5 (side A)

1. Date card. 2. Pawn Stars Sign in Vegas. 3. Journaling and Las Vegas Sign. 4. Martina McBride Concert. 5. Our hotel in Vegas. 6. King George Concert (George Strait).

Week 5 (side B)

1. Johns Webelo Ceremony 2. John Bridging into Boy Scouts. 3. Ben helping with Johns ceremony. 4. Johns Arrow of Light Awards 4. "Do Your Best' card. Private journaling inside grid envelope. 5. The scouts giving their mom & dads a rose for their help in Scouts.

I have also included an extra page protector with John's awards that he got at his ceremony. They are just slipped into an 8.5 x 11 page protector. These will probably ended up framed, and on his wall, but for now, this was a good 'holding' spot for them.
Week 5 (side C)

1. John being funny. 2. Journaling card about John. 3. "Hello" sticker about our crazy week. 4. Journaling + photo of Alex's wrecked truck. 5. John making muffins for breakfast. 6.  Whitney Houston death journaling. 7. Photo of Whitney Houston. 8. Newspaper clipping from Whitney Houston's death.

Week 5 in its entirety.

That is enough for now. I will be back shortly with more of my Project Life book!

Paper Issues and Gauche Alchemy

Happy Sunday! Today over on the Paper Issues Blog we are playing along with Gauche Alchemy and we are getting out of our comfort zones! You can participate in all the fun by linking up your projects that have pushed you out of your zone over on the Paper Issues Blog!
Gauche Alchemy sent me a box of goodies to play with - and boy, was some of these items NOT my standard go to! After a little creativity, I ended up making a small canvas to go in my scrapbook room. For the background, I used a bit of modeling paste (something new for me!) and the punchinella as a stencil and ended up with the most fabulous texture! After it dried a bit, I swiped some paint on the top. Instant love! Then, I began laying bits and pieces of the vintage lovies that they had sent me. I even added some lace (that I dyed myself!) to my project.

Everything about this was out of the box for me! The color scheme. The textures. Using multiple pieces of vintage goodness. I had the best time experimenting!

Giveaway and Fun Stuff!

Now, for the fun part! Paper Issues is having a blog hop this week and YOU have a chance to win a fabulous package from Gauche Alchemy! To be entered, all you have to do is become a follower of my blog. You can also head over to the Paper Issues Blog and read about how to get more chances to win!

Horray for Saturday!

Happy Saturday! The family + I are heading out today for a 3-day weekend in Dallas. Six Flags Over Texas + Texas Rangers Baseball + Shopping + Good Food. All the things my little family needs to 'reset' and reconnect to each other.

I wanted to share this new layout I have made, using Studio Calico's Abroad line. I seriously am in love with these papers. (Have I mentioned that before? LOL)

Back in High School I was an Foreign Exchange Student to Russia. Some say this is where I picked up my wild streak, that lasted well into my adulthood. Anyway.  Going into Moscow and seeing the Kremlin + Red Square was an awesome experience. At 16, I didn't appreciate the history and the pure awesomeness of it all. Looking back now, though, wow. This page will end up going into my travels album. Honestly, I haven't scrapped hardly any of my Russia, Germany and Ukraine photos. Back when I was there, I wasn't into taking great photos so many are, shall we say, craptastic. But I am going to use them anyway!

I will be linking this page up to the Paper Issues Blog, for their Abroad Challenge. Today's the last day before a new challenge goes up tomorrow. Have you played along yet?

I have to go - we are leaving at 5am...and that is in just 5 hours. Oh, and I haven't packed anything yet. Yeah, thats me. Last minuet Missy....

Studio Calico: Abroad

Oy. Its been a while. Lots going on in my homelife - things are settleing down and getting back into a good groove.

Its just been a busy season in my life. I know you understand.

I am getting back in my scrapbook groove and played around with some of Studio Calico's new Abroad paper line.

Gorgeous, I tell ya! Love the colors, the patterns. *sigh* I have paper issues, apparently! LOL

This is a layout of when my son John got his new 'eyes'. He was so proud...and looked so grown up! I am linking this layout to the Paper Issues Blog - this week we are challenging you to 'Go Abroad'. Interpret this as you will...anything goes! When you link up you get to be entered into a drawing to win some swag for the Paper Issues store! *sweet!*
