Happy Monday, y'all! Hope you had a fabulous weekend! Alex & I did - the boys were at their dad's, so we had date night on Friday + a night cap with friends, then Saturday brought lunch out, and then dinner with friends that we don't get to see too often! I love this stage of my life.
Today though, I have week 2 of my Project Life Album to share. I have to confess - this week came together much smoother + quicker than last weeks did. I also feel like I am starting to see my 'scrapbook style' come through more this week as well. I am certain that, as we get further through the year, I will look back & laugh at how simple my first weeks were!

This week, I used a little more technique on my layout. I stamped, die-cut, and heat embossed. I have some hidden journaling (in the paper bag) as a letter to John about our time we share each day while waiting on his brother to get out of school. I have also copied an obituary of a friends daughter that passed away from Cancer. That's her photo up top. I've included family birthday's we celebrated (my sisters and niece) and restaurants we've eaten at. Oh, and I wrote about us starting Couch 2-5K in preparation of running my first 5K. I've snuck in a photo of Alex relaxing in his chair with the dogs, and a photo of Ben taken while we shared a lunch date instead of going straight back to school after he got his braces fixed. And that photo with the yellow clouds? If you look closely, you will see that it has a rainbow. We saw this rainbow just as the funeral was ending for our friend's 16 year old daughter. I had to include it.Well, friends, that's it for today! I am going to be linking his week's layout to the Creative Mom's Project Life post on Tuesday! Come check it out!
Oh! And I have a new layout to share tomorrow. It's one of my favorites that I have made recently. It has scallops, tissue paper, and my favorite little angel. It's a keeper!
Love your pages! I am just getting started with Project Life and so excited!
ReplyDeletelove the journalling in the sunburst! Awesome! I am so sorry about your friend's daughter for your loss and for your friend. I pray that you are able to walk with her and support her as she goes through this pain. So so sorry. what a beautiful gift that rainbow. wow. grace upon grace even when something is so unbelievably difficult.
ReplyDeleteGreat pages, I like how you used two different types of page protectors. You used a lot of really fun embellishments, are the dimensional? Do they add to bulk in your binder over time? Just asking because it's my first year...
ReplyDeleteI love the "hidden" journaling. Adds really fun dimension.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love the rich red polk-a-dot paper strip across the top of the date card. I love polk-a-dots!
Really like your "date card" and the way the date curves around. Super appealing to the eye.
ReplyDeleteI always forget how much heat embossing 'rocks my socks!' it is seriously like magic...your pages look great
