edited to add: LAURA! You are the winner of the Ali Edwards December Daily Stamp! Email me your address to: mpriest@clearwire.net
Um, where has the month of November gone to? I cannot believe we are knocking on December's door.
Crazy.
I am participating in Ali Edward's December Daily series. And I am excited.
Never heard of it? Read this post. Some people get their entire album together ahead of time. I've done that in the past, and well, it really didn't work well for me. So this year, I am creating the cover ahead of time + adding pages as I go along.
My thoughts for this years December Daily album is simple + sweet. literally.I want to keep this as simple and easy as I can so it will be easier to finish the whole book. I also want to concentrate on telling our 'real' story vs. telling the stories people expect to find. Trust me, I will do the usual 'tree' page and seeing Christmas lights, but I also want to capture what Christmas looks like since the boys are with their dad. I want to capture the true 'season' of my life, right now.
About the Album
I am going to be using a Simple Stories Sn@p Album + inserts. For the '25' I just glittered up some of the October Afternoon chipboard numbers and then layered them on a doily and a tag. To finish it all off, I glittered some star stickpins and stuck them through the twine.
My plan is to use papers from October Afternoon Make It Merry. I have lots of bits and pieces of embellishments that I plan on tucking in as well.
I haven't nailed down an exact daily process just yet. I'm leaning towards each day getting a page protector that has 2 - 3x4 slots, along with a 4x6. It looks like this:
For days that I have a more meaningful story or photo, I will throw some of these in randomly:
Most everything that I have used for my cover, can be found in the Paper Issues Store. Use coupon code JUSTME for 20% off your entire order.
So that's where I am. I am going to linking this up to the Paper Issues Holiday Happy Party as well as to Ali Edwards Blog. Come join us!
Giveaway
I am excited. Are you? Leave a link of your cover + process in the comments. I will give away one set of Ali Edwards December Daily Stamp Sets from those who link up their projects or just say hi! I will draw a winner on Friday night, so I can get this to you in the mail on Saturday!
PS. Say a prayer for my momma. In just a few short hours, we go get her test results back on her bone marrow. There is a very real possibility it is Myelodysplastic Syndrome (this is what ABC News Anchor Robin Roberts has). And well, if it is MDS, thats not a good thing.
I love your cover, those glitter numbers are awesome. I haven't started mine yet, I better get cracking :)
ReplyDeletethinking of your momma, Melissa. *hugs*

Prayers for your mom.
I'm using a red snap album too. I obviously altered mine. It is not entirely finished. I still want to have either a red glittery December 2012 or maybe a simple "25" like you have done. I love how elegant your cover is in its simplicity! Thanks for sharing!
Linda
Pretty cover, love the silver numbers and stick pins
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet cover! I can't wait to see the rest. Sadly, I'm not brave enough to start a DD....I hope to one of these years, but life is just a little too crazy right now, and I don't want to live with the frustration of starting and not finishing.....
ReplyDeleteLove how clean and simple your cover is!
