Using my Silhouette for December Daily (and a free file to share!)

I wanted to jump on here and share some of the ways I plan on using my Silhouette to make inserts and accents for my December Daily.

I have a Cameo 3 that I am just now really getting to know, and I wanted to use it more in my preparations for my December Daily album.

Ali Edwards offered a main kit for those who wanted to use it as the base of their album. While there were pieces of the kit that were my style, most of it was not something I would use.

But see that half circle notepad? The one with the small star in the center? I wanted to recreate that notepad to use in my own album. The design was easy enough - a half circle and then add a star in the center. My Silhouette Cameo 3 could recreate this easily with the Print and Cut feature.

I went ahead and made several to use in the month of December - and I am sharing a photo here of how I plan on using them. I also made a cut file with the heart in the center, as I am using hearts as an accent this year.

Want to make your own half circle's with hearts and stars? I am going to share my file with you! My only request is you do not claim it as your own & please do not take it with the intent to sell it.

You can download the file here

In the past, I have stuck to just using my 6x8 page protectors and sticking everything in pockets. This year I am choosing to make an effort to bring things out of the pockets and make my album more tactile.

One of the ways I am planning on making some of my inserts interactive is by in flaps - little places to tuck in photos and journaling.

I cut this scalloped circle on my silhouette. I love the whimsical touch it adds. The white half circle will be decorated/journaled on in December. You can also see the backside of a 2x2 pocket page - its still a work in process, so just ignore the post-it-notes! :)

Here is a photo of the insert, with the flap open. I (temporarily) added a photo of my DH in to show you how I plan on using this insert in the future. I can even add journaling to the inside of the flap, if I chose to.

Have a great Friday, friends. If you end up using my print and cut file for the star half circle, leave me a note in the comments!
